Johnson Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Program Director / Nurse Manager for Behavioral Health. 


The Program Director / Nurse Manager position is responsible and accountable for working with the JMH Executive Director of Nursing Services and the JMH Medical Director to determine:


  • Clinical and administrative program goals.
  • Acquiring and allocating material, financial, and human resources; evaluating and revising goals and processes related to resources and clinical practice.
  • Providing leadership in the management and development of patient care staff.
  • Assuring the ongoing evaluation of services provided within the department.
  • Facilitating research and inquiry into best practices within nursing, healthcare and management systems.
  • Facilitating collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare leaders.
  • Being a role model to develop and retain staff.




  • BSN in nursing is required, MSN preferred.
  • Active, In-State RN licensure in good standing.
  • Three – five years’ progressive nursing management experience in behavioral health nursing inpatient/outpatient settings.
  • Two years’ leadership experience as a charge nurse, nurse manager or supervisor.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory standards, i.e., CMS, The Joint Commission, DPH.
  • Strong training skills with experience in medication teaching, management of the therapeutic milieu and providing mandatory and voluntary in-service training to all staff.
