  • Overview

    Come work with a great team!  Diamond Healthcare, the manager of behavioral health services for Medstar Washington Hospital Center, has an opening for a Business Development Rep., to cultivate strong community partnerships and develop consistent referral sources for inpatient and outpatient service levels.

     

    Essential Functions:

     

    • Develop strategies that strengthen the position of MedStar Washington Hospital Center’s Behavioral Health Services within the community as a premier provider.
    • Develop strategic partnerships with key referral sources and providers.
    • Provide facility sponsored trainings and education seminars for providers as ongoing community support.
    • Attend and schedule appropriate conferences and workshops to enhance census development. 
    • Create and implement effective business plans for the Inpatient and Outpatient departments focused on census targets, payor mix diversity, and effective program development to meet the market needs.
    • Work as an established team member alongside Administrative, Medical, Clinical, and MedStar Washington Hospital Center Staff and Leadership.

    Requirements/Qualifications

     

    • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a health or business related field, a Master’s Degree is preferred.
    • A minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare business development/marketing position, or related field.
    • Knowledge of Inpatient and Outpatient behavioral health and substance abuse programs.
    • Experience in a similar role in the greater Washington, DC area preferred.
    • Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and regulatory requirements is preferred.
    • Must have a successful track record and proven ability to grow program census.
    • Clinical experience sufficient to perform required assessment services is strongly preferred - license not required.
    • Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational and writing skills are required.
    • Must have access to personal transportation and a good driving record.
    • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as required.
    • Ability to manage time and work productively without daily supervision.
