Signet Health, a national behavioral health management company, is currently recruiting full-time LPNs for psychiatric inpatient services for an 18-bed adult unit at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital in Brockton, MA.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Roles and Responsibilities:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible as part of the healthcare team with the care and management of inpatients during their visit. The LPN will perform professional clinical duties including but not limited to care, treatment, documentation, education and medication administration to assure safe patient care for the Behavioral Health patients in the Psychiatry Department.
- Care for patients during their stay, examination, procedure, and/or treatment in accordance with established policies.
- Assess patient acuity and inform physician and/or licensed provider of urgent or emergent patient needs.
- Educate patients in regard to care within the scope of standards of care of nursing practice.
- Document patient information in the electronic medical record as necessary.
- Assist physicians and licensed providers with medical and surgical procedures in accordance with established protocols.

- Maintain a high quality and safe patient care and staff environment by preparing care area for patients, and work area for staff.
- Understand, respect and demonstrate patient confidentiality in all endeavors. Understand the legal ramifications of violating any component of patient confidentiality. Understand and demonstrate the protocol and related procedures for the release of patient information.
- Under the orders of a physician or licensed provider, administer oral or injectable medications.
- Under the orders of a physician or licensed provider, administer treatments; provide care for wounds; and other physical needs.
- Participates in continuing education to maintain current nursing standards for patient care and education, within skill and scope of practice as required by regulations of the Commonwealth.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external). Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.
