Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-orientedBehavioral Health Coordinator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our behavioral health department through a variety of administrative and coordination tasks, ensuring efficient operations and seamless patient care. This position requires strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Utilization Review & Billing Support:
    • Assist with utilization reviews of behavioral health services to ensure compliance with payer guidelines and support accurate billing processes.
    • Review documentation for completeness and adherence to regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with billing department to resolve discrepancies and facilitate timely claim submission.
  • Legal & Information Requests:
    • Respond to requests for information from the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and other legal entities, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to all privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
    • Coordinate the retrieval and preparation of necessary documentation for legal proceedings or information requests.
  • Telehealth Coordination:
    • Set up and manage tele-visit appointments for behavioral health providers and patients.
    • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for virtual platforms as needed.
    • Ensure smooth and secure virtual connections for all telehealth sessions.
  • Administrative Support for Behavioral Health Team:
    • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the behavioral health team, including faxing, calling and sending emails on behalf of the team.
    • Assist with data entry and safety plans.
    • Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and other documents.
    • Act as a liaison between the behavioral health team and other internal departments or external stakeholders as needed
    • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned.

 

Requirements/Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, psychology, social work, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative or coordination experience, preferably within a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
  • Familiarity with utilization review processes and medical billing procedures is a plus. 
  • Strong understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding environment.

Compensation Information: 

 

Minimum Salary: $19.00

Maximum Salary: $24.00
