Overview

Signet Health is actively interviewing qualified applicants for a Senior Mental Health Technician position that serves three (3) Senior Renewal Outpatient programs located at the St. Joseph Hospitals in Madisonville, Navasota, and Caldwell.  The ‘home base’ for the position can be located at any of the three locations.

 

Signet Health provides a market-competitive compensation package for full-time positions. Mileage reimbursement will be provided for travel between locations and marketing activities.

 

This is a key position that provides direct patient care, monitors patients' physical and emotional needs, and administratively supports the psychiatric program. The role is also responsible for marketing the three (3) programs to solicit referrals and is a vital part of the outpatient treatment team.

 

Program hours are Monday - Friday; 8AM - 4PM, with some flexibility possible. Routine responsibilities include:

  • Assistance with ‘Doctor’s Day’  at each of the 3 locations:

o  Preparing patients to see the prescribing psychiatric provider;

o  obtaining vital signs; and having patients complete the GAD-7 and PHQ-9 self-assessment tools before they see the prescriber;

  • Conducting random chart audits while at each clinic;
  • Talking to each program Director to discuss that program’s marketing needs;
  • Marketing:
  • Two (2) days each week will be spent engaging in marketing activities for all three (3) programs. This may include creating marketing material, making a marketing plan, traveling throughout the service areas of the three (3) programs to disseminate marketing material, and contacting individuals by telephone or in person to provide information about the programs, including how an individual could potentially benefit from the services being offered.

This position also provides coverage at all 3 programs when the MH Technician at that program is out on PTO or if the MH Technician position at a program becomes vacant. This position will then assume the responsibilities of the MH Technician at the program, which may include:

 

  • Patient transportation to program services using program van..
  • Maintaining medical records.
  • Monitoring patient interactions and safety..
  • Providing administrative support.
  • Has good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Entering patient information into a Signet electronic database.
  • Scheduling patients' therapy and psychiatric appointments.
  • Answering telephone for program, screening calls, and taking messages.

 

 

 

 

Requirements/Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
